My name is Brent Peters, and I am currently a second year student pursuing an individual major at UCSC. My primary focus is on social justice, citizen journalism, and mobile technology. I am working with GIIP to create a web and mobile platform that will organize cases of social injustice, making it impossible for human rights violations and other atrocities to remain unnoticed. By connecting a direct conduit for activists on the ground to communicate with the outside world, the project will help create a truly interconnected world and bring an end to the information blackout that is often imposed by totalitarian regimes.
