GIIP's Vision

Today, restricted access to information technology undermines the democratic representation of weaker groups and institutionalizes a new form of inequality--information exclusion. When working with partner organizations, GIIP’s strategy pursues three goals:

  • To work in solidarity with community and civil society groups sharing the same social agenda to use ICT and social networking to more effectively realize their goals at the local, national and global levels;
  • To assess and support the informational and networking capacity of community and civil society groups; and
  • To empower civil society groups to manage and confidently use information technology networks in a sustainable way that builds organizational self-reliance.
