GIIP works with Strategic Partners to develop joint projects, which the partner assists in funding. GIIP also now builds into our curriculum the project as a case study and the hands-on technologies that interns will need to implement for the success of the project.

Education - Training - Research Associates (ETR) www.etr.org
ETR Associates bridges research, practice, and policy through its: Center for Youth Success, Center for Sexual & Reproductive Health Promotion, Research Department and Knowledge and Information Management Department. The goal of Center for Youth Success is to provide all the kinds of help that at-risk and underserved youth need to become healthy, successful, contributing adults. Part and parcel with this effort, the Center seeks to communicate what it learns about best practices for helping youth to other youth-serving organizations.
Institute of International Education (IIE) www.iie.org
The Institute of International Education (IIE) sponsors The Leadership Development for Mobilizing Reproductive Health Program (LDM), which invests in emerging and established reproductive health leaders who live and work in the poorest regions of five focus countries: Ethiopia, India, Nigeria, Pakistan, and the Philippines. Since 2000, over 900 men and women have accessed leadership development opportunities through the LDM program, focusing on pressing global health issues as HIV/AIDS, adolescent reproductive health, gender-based violence, and access to quality family planning services and improved maternal health care. This program is made possible through support of the David and Lucille Packard Foundation.
International Health Programs (IHP) www.ihp.org
International Health Programs (IHP) provides regional and in-country training around the world by offering courses on public health issues such as reproductive health and AIDS, with special consideration to adolescents and the teachings of Islam. IHP has developed a diversified annual training schedule addressing critical and emerging health issues for all levels of health care practitioners and policy-makers. Since 1972, IHP has trained over 6300 individuals through courses held in a variety of languages including English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Arabic, Russian and Romanian.
Riecken Foundation www.riecken.org
The Riecken Foundation builds libraries in Central America creating vibrant learning centers that engage residents in literacy projects, ICT access and training and citizen participation in their local community. Through free internet access and ICT trainings, Riecken connects individuals and communities with each other and the world at large. Founded in 2000, Riecken has built 60 libraries in Honduras and Nicaragua and has goals to expand to hundreds more communities by 2013.
Center for Technology and Development (CITAD) www.citad.org
The Center for Technology and Development (CITAD) is involved in advocacy, training, and research related to the use of ICT for sustainable development in Northern Nigeria., working closely with both Kano state and Boyero University at Kano. CITAD sponsors tech literacy trainings for members of community-based organizations, NGOs, Women’s Groups and children. Other CITAD programs promote achieving universal computer literacy through schools and providing access to information resources as well as channels of communication to open up government and development processes to citizens in order to promote community participation in the development and political processes.

Progressive Technology Project (PTP) was founded in 1998 by grassroots organizers to support social change community-led organizing in low income communities and communities of color. PTP helps community organizations achieve their goals more effectively and efficiently by leading trainings to improve individual’s tech skills and increase organizational capacity. PTP has worked with hundreds of organizations across the U.S.
Center for Multicultural Cooperation (CMC) www.cmcweb.org
The Center for Multicultural Cooperation (CMC) in Fresno, CA runs several acclaimed programs, teaching digital story telling to under-represented students from dozens of California communities. The projects Hmong Voices, Latino Voices and Veteran Voices have been combined into CMC’s newest program, California Voices, which is a rapidly expanding after-school program, serving students from dozens of California communities across the state. CMC links cultural and generational divides, giving voice to the stories of elders, and fostering youths’ pride in their culture, heritage and ideas for change, simultaneously developing students’ leadership and civic participation skills.

The Center for International Policy (CIP) has implemented several programs to promote a U.S. foreign policy based on international cooperation, demilitarization and respect for human rights since its founding in 1975, including the Americas Program, Win Without War, Avoided Deforestation Partners and Global Financial Integrity.

The World Agroforestry Center (ICRAF) advances the science and practice of agroforestry to ensure economic, health and environmental security of the rural poor in developing countries. ICRAF is recognized as the international leader in agroforestry research and development. They engage in collaborative projects with a variety of other organizations, including their work with Sustainable Aid in Africa (SANA) on local watershed and water resource management and development.
