What We Do

GIIP's Vision - The Global Information Internship Program (GIIP) mentors the next generation of social advocates to use technology and entrepreneurship in their campaign for a just and sustainable world.

Our vision is realized through the following avenues:

  • GISES Major & Minor - In response to student demand, GIIP initiated an intensive major and minor in Global Information and Social Enterprise Studies (GISES) in 2008,  designed as a service learning program for the formation of digital social entrepreneurs.

  • Projects - Student projects are at the core of GIIP's curriculum, and a requirement for the GISES major and minor.  Students are instructed in project design, evaluation, “learning by doing”, social networking and collaborative learning with partner organizations.

  • Partners - GIIP works with Strategic Partners to develop joint projects, and builds into the curriculum the project as a case study, and the skills needed to successfully implement the project.

  • Consulting - GIIP Enterprises provides information technology services tailored to the needs global civil society groups and social enterprises that work in education, women's health, sustainability and global social justice.
